The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the most recent development of the 16-bit version made by Konami based on the same title animated series. The players can choose from the main characters of the story namely: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, or Raphael. Players can be found roaming the streets of New York City, scouring underground sewers and take adventure across rooftops while battling with The Shredder and his dreaded army of Foot Ninjas. There are two different modes on the game namely, the VS or is also known as the 2 player competition and the story mode for single players. The Story Mode is divided into six stages, and each stage contains anywhere from 5 to 8 areas. In the two-player mode, only the first turtle's progress is saved and only the first turtle can participate in the Dojo Stages and the Special Stage. You can replay stages that you've already cleared, which is useful if you're trying to hone your skills or collect all of the makimonos.
